Hi there. Unfortunately, coding is completely foreign to me and i really have no idea what i am seeing when i look at a piece of it. However, i really like the "Level Up Meter v.1.0[CB]" and would also like to use it on my forum. The thing is, i am more than hopeless and don't know how to manipulate it the way i want it; as in the level requirements, or the colour/gradient etc. I would really appreciate it if somebody could help me out with this. Like i said, in relation to coding, i'm a complete idiot. Thanks for taking the time to read this. I hope someone replies. xxx -+-Win32##Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0##1024 × 768##1-+-

you shouldn't feel like an idiot, because I know nothing about coding either, except bits and pieces here and there. as far as the level requirements are concerned, those have to deal with how many posts each level requires to gain that level/rank. you set this yourself. go into your Admin area and look for the link that says 'Modify Ranks' and click on it. this will take you to the screen that allows you to set how many posts you need to gain a certain level/rank, as well as decide the title of the level/ranks. if you've already done this, make a note of the posts require for each rank, then enter them where it prompts you to in the code. if you have more than the default number of ranks, which i believe is five, then after the last number listed in the 'level requirements' section of the code(at the top), simply add a comma, then the next number. continue this for each additional rank. where you see this bit of coding, this is how you edit it: meterBGColor="#00AA00";^^this is the color that you want the background of the meter to be. where the #00AA00 is, you enter the hex code of the color you want to use. you can find hex codes and their colors at www.december.com/html/spec/colorcodes.html . find one that you like and that fits your forums color scheme and enter the code for it where you see the #00AA00meterBorderColor="#000000";^^this is the color that you want the border of the meter to be. again, where you see the #000000 is where you enter the hex code for the color that you want the border to be. again, visit the website that i have listed in the description above this one. meterHeight=8;^^this is the height that you want your meter to be. 8 is just fine and that's the size that i use here, but if you want to make it bigger or smaller, just enter a bigger or smaller number where you see the 8. Now for this bit: where you see this bit of coding, only use it if you want to use a custom gradient(or background) rather than a simple color. if you have a custom gradient that you want to use, this is how you edit this part of the code: where it says meterGradientURL=""; , enter the URL of the gradient between the quotation marks in the above line of coding. i hope that this helps you and isn't too confusing. i tried to explain it in as much detail as possible. -+-Win32##Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0##1280 × 768##1-+-
