Now this is a Very Basic Tech Border Tutorial-Great for Begineers! Hope you learn something and can improve your graphics.
My Original Image:
1) Open up your image. This works best for Signatures.
2) Now grab the Polygonal Lasso Tool:
3) Make a Border along your Image. Be Creative! Don’t just make a Rectable-although if you do, we can always fix it up later. Hold the Shift Key so that you're lines will be straight!
4) Hit Ctrl+Shift+I
5) Now choose a Color to fill in your Border with. Any Color will work. Personally, I like to use Black or White, but it’s up to you.
Here’s what mine looks like right now:
Of Course, you have a Border now. You could stop now-but it wouldn’t be very techy, now would it? Let’s Contiune.
6) Lets add some Effects to our Border. You can really do whatever you want, here’s what I’m using:
>Layer Styles>Bevels> Simple Inner
>Layer Styles>Drop Shadows>Low
>Layer Styles> Inner Shadows> High
Now that we’ve added effects, lets add some cool shapes to our Border. Note: If you are using a Photoshop 7.0 then you will have to change your Border by doing: >Layer>Layer Styles and changing the settings from there.
7) Grad your Eraser Tool. Set the Pixels to 3, and Zoom in. Erase 3 Lines, each one pixel away from each other.
8) Now Zoom Out. Hopefully your’s looked something like mine.
9) Repeat Steps 7 and 8 in different spots as desired. If you mess up, or don’t like what you’ve added, hit Ctrl+ Z to undo the changes.
Here’s what I have right now:
You may stop here, or keep on going! Your Choice, but if you want to, let’s keep going.
Lets add some cool circles.
10)Grad your Elliptical Marquee Tool.
11) Create a New Layer, Ctrl+Shift+N
12)Zoom in Once Again, and in an unused spot, create a create with the Tool.
13)Now, Fill in the Circle with your Color of Choice. I’m using Purple since that’s a color in my sig.
14) Repeat Steps 12 and 13 untill you have 3 Circles.
15) Now use the same settings as in Step 6.
And you’re Done! You can keep going if you want, but you can choose to stay. Here’s what I got:
Hope you enjoyed the Tut!
